College Online Education Programs - VRC is accepting proposals to re-design its company website, a consumer-focused website used to: 1. Educate potential customers about the advantages of a Viking's deluxe river cruises and make VRC synonymous with the category 2.Incite site visitors to take action, preferably by requesting that a Viking reservation specialist call them for a follow-up call to close the sale/booking. 3. Extend the VRC brand through viral, pass-along methods such as emailed web content including rich and detailed cruise tour itineraries and picture e-cards and other possible pass-along content. 4. Build Viking's internal email lists by having users: Register their email address to receive future newsletters or emails of current cruise specials and price reductions.
Requesting a brochure for Viking's European and China cruise tour offerings. submit a "contact us" form. Participate in the above mentioned viral pass-along activities that will require the sender and receiver's email addresses. Reduce non-booking calls by providing details online for booked but not sailed passengers 6. A subsection aimed at the travel agent community, which currently accounts for almost 80 percent of Viking's bookings.
The existing VRC website was originally designed and produced in 2002 and modified in 2003 to serve multi-lingual content (see screenshots in addendum at end of this document). The site is maintained with in-house resources and an outsourced developer to update and maintain the underlying MS SQL database and .Net frameworks that dynamically produce the site's HTML documents. This is an open and competitive process. Proposals received after 12:00pm/noon PST, Friday, March 19, 2004, will not be considered and will be returned unopened. The proposal must contain the signature of a duly authorized officer or agent of the company submitting the proposal. If you wish to submit alternate solutions, please do so. The price you quote should be inclusive.
